- Through extension .MIDI or .MID
Although that is an option, please /never/ rely on it.

MS-Windows has shown that using file extension in order to identify files is a nightmare waiting to happen (even though we are not restricted to using 3 characters).

For example some people name their music module "mod.name_of_mod" while others use "name_of_mod.mod"

I have always been so proud of the author of Directory Opus with its file-recognition scripting, e.g. something similar as the mask used in the file-type descriptor. It was one the first programs I used that is flawless in recognizing files correctly (and if not you screwed things up yourself  :) )

I agree with you, but unfortunately many types of files do not have an "acronym" file start, there are files although they are of the same format have a "different acronym", see precisely the music files "MOD", where each program that creates the MOD, generates an acronympersonalized and therefore different from others.

On AROS One, I use recognition by extension, only on certain types of files where there is no possibility to use the acronym.

On AROS One, not only Wanderer but also Dopus4 recognizes the same file types.

The commands GetDefDiskObject & GetDiskObjectNew are what I was looking for. Sorry for the confusion.  8)

But having the correct datatype descriptors is also good.

OK miker no problem, also because I didn't know "GetDefDiskObject & GetDiskObjectNew"

On the new Build in SYS:Tools there are two new Directories "Hardware" and "Debug", on AROS One v2.0 you will find these two folders in SYS:System, along with all the apps that manage the Operating System.

For these new Directory I have created Icons for the various Icon Sets, see screenshot !

In the next Release of AROS One v2.0, thanks to SMB2 it will be possible to connect to a share available on the network.

In theExtras/Internet/SMB2 folder is an example script for installation, also present aa set of icons to assign to the shared volume.

To install the icon it will be sufficient to click on the icon of choice, I attach screenshot showing the available icons.

To see the new icon on Wanderer simply do a refresh of Wanderer from -> Wanderer Menu -> Bacdrop

BeastieWorker v0.4, OpenGL Sokoban Game in 3D, il gioco richiede una Scheda Video supportata, in modalità VESA è troppo lento.

For OS4 users I have finished the "OS3 Games" Icon Set requested by the "amigans.net" user, now in addition to folders there are also Binary file icons, the same icons will be able to be used on AROS x86/68k, I will only have to change the Folder Type (so as not to infringe copyrights), and the Icon type, OS4 uses "PowerIcons" type Icons.

All icons have been recreated from scratch, now all icons follow the same style, image encompassed in a circle.
