Maybe in the future with your application we could have these icons with more colors, this icon brings out the objects as if they were 3D, maybe in the future I can also include the larger 64x64 version that brings out the objects even more.

Maybe you could attach a small sample of a few icons so I can examine them? Thanks for your hard work.

I'll start working on my Icon Tools beginning next week.  :)

New software on AROS One x86 it's about "Fenachistoscopio", program that loads and displays animations based on
phenakistiscopes, instruments from the 1800s that show small animations.

The frames of these animations were placed along a disc that was rotated and while watching them, the viewer had the impression that the figures came into motion, the phenakistiscope is an ancestor of modern cinema.

Noted with much pleasure that on the AROS x86 Hardware Compatibility site, AROS One x86 has been tested in its various versions with large number of Hardware, and detected compatibility, a thanks to the site authors.

Today I installed AROS One x86 on a 60GB SSD.

I'm pleasantly surprised that all my external drives including USB CD/DVD, USB Teac Floppy Drive, USB Multi Card Reader, USB Zip250 Drive simply work. All media mounted correctly using Trident. How do I force a disk to dismount in Trident?

I attached my USB Blu-Ray drive & I inserted Icaros 2.2 Live CD. It mounted correctly. But when I removed the DVD the Icon remained on the Wanderer workbench. All other icons unmounted automatically when the disk was removed

For AROS One x86 how do I know which version I have? Info only shows the version information about AROS ABIv0.

The AROS One x86 Native that I just installed on my mini PC will be great for testing x86 applications. I like the look & feel of AROS One x86. My version will require some custom tools & icons, themes, etc.  :)

You can remove Trident from Trident Prefs, but it is complicated, you can instead disassemble it with the "AddUSBHardware" command,
you have to run it twice though (I am preparing a script for AROS One).

Using "AddUSBHardware" after unmounting on real PC the icon remains on the Workbench, while on VMWare the icon is also removed .

The "AddUSBHardware" command is also used to mount a USB volume, but in the AROS version there is no precise information on how to do this.
On Aminet there are scripts that work partially because they are native OS3.

For other Devices (CD/DVD/Floppy) you can use the "Eject" command, to do this you find ready icons in the Utilities folder the files/icons are called "Eject-CD-DVD" and "Eject-Floppy"

To unmount volumes you can also use the Assign command, example "Assign Dismount CD0:"

Is the icon that is left on Wanderer an icon that stays even after a reboot?

There is no way to detect the version of AROS One, from the next version it will be added on the GRUB graphics and AROS Logo

With the new AfA OS Style icons it will look much better, already many people prefer them, when they have them on the Wandere they will appreciate them even more. suggli screenshots

Thanks for the information.  :)

For the AROS One version there is a nice graphic for the Themes that goes on the Titlebar of the Wanderer screen. Instead of just a stylized "AROS One" make it for example "AROS One v1.9' That way it is always visible in a nice way.

I will customize mine so you can see how nice it looks.  ;)

Yes that was what I wanted to do, the problem is that each theme has a different bar, this means that with each version I would have to change all the bars.

I can still unify and use one bar for all themes, that would be the best choice.

Consider that that text on the Bar moves based on video resolutions, it would have been nice to have an option in the system where next to Wanderer and Memory you could also add Distribute, on Amiga OS3.2 this function is part of the operating system, on OS 3.9 there are external applications.

It looks great on the right side of the Screen Titlebar.

I would like to update LunaPaint with the new code I have for datatype & bit depth conversion for picture files. It would also include Neuquant Color Quantizing. But the executable file is rather large to post on Aminet or Archives.

Would you like to include it in your AROS One x86? The downloads for your distro are large enough that one more package won't make a big difference.  ;)

It will take several weeks to complete the changes though all the code already exists. I just need to update it all to make it more cohesive. I also have to spend time testing.

The original author Mons00n did a great job with LunaPaint. When the datatypes code is completed I will use it for all my picture file conversions. The user can select from several background tiles & a few different logo files for "about" box.
The original logo slogan was "Playing With Bugs" That will be the default logo & slogan. Though others are available.

It's just a substantial update for the datatypes conversions for picture files including support for my new TIFF datatype.

Yes with pleasure, I don't know if I understood correctly, should I put it in the Graphics folder instead of the old version, or separately ?

How big is the file, on Arosarchive I have seen archives larger than 150 MB !

The compiled binary is only a few MB in size. Most uploads are much smaller.

I have to do a "clean" update of the sources to be able to provide a complete changelog for the update. I neglected to make a file called Project Notes to detail everything I did. Now I must re-create everything.  :(

Luckily LunaPaint is a small program. I'll compile the x86 version of the current build with the newest changes so you can try it out with AROS One x86.

As of Build D14 there are some interesting new features, one of them is the new datatypes to display images in the "webp" format, which is widely used on the Internet.

Of defaul could be recognized "webp" images only if they prente the extension, for AROS One I made a small change to the Descriptor and now "webp" images will be recognized even without extension, see screenshot.

For the new "webp" format I also created the custom icon def_webp.info
