It is not really a modification of the Descriptor (made for all my Datatypes), I just disabled recognition by extension, the Descriptor does not support the two methods included at the same time.

The procedure adopted on AROS One, as on OS3, is that each file format (Graphics, Music and other file types) has its own Descritor and custom def icona, on AROS Standard there is only one def icon for all types of images, so my procedure is not in line with the standard.

----- Italiano ----

Great news! I was wondering about that.

On AROS One x86 versions 1.6 & 1.7 is gcc available in the shell to compile simple c programs?

AROS One 1.6 does not have functional GCC, there is only Development of the standard Build.

AROS One 1.7 yes, GCC works from the Shell but there is GCC v6.30

AROS One 18 yes, GCC works from the Shell but there is GCC v6.5.0

AROS One 19 yes, GCC works from the Shell but there is GCC v6.5.0

Created small About App for AROS One x86, "About Aros One" is installed in the path Extras:AROS One, in this folder you will also find the English and Utalian Manual of AROS One and all the Installers of the System Icon and Disk Icon Packages.

After finishing 3 "Full System" Icon Sets, also created 6 "Volume" Icon Sets (Disk.Info).

Here is a special installer will replace all volume icons on AROS One x86 with one click, you can see in the screenshot the 6 types of Icons.

A few users have asked me to create a "Set Icon System" with the "old" DualPNG "Envelope" style icons from AROS One v1.0.
As soon as I have some time I will complete and make these icons available as well.

For those who don't know, all AROS One Icons are my creations, any suggestions or proposals are welcome.

Very nice! You do good work.  :)

It's good to have options when it comes to icon sets.

Thanks miker, this icon requires more careful and more work, I had to enlarge and lengthen it, otherwise with the 48x42 size it was smaller than the 48x46 of the Apps.

Now the size of the icon is 52x50, to my eyes it seems to be the same dimenstine as the App (48x46), naturally there are also 62x60 versionsMax, but these will be needed when there will be a tool to resize the icons like the one present on AfA OS or OS4.1.

Also also all the images have been replaced from how they were on the old AROS One.10, now they have the same images as the other Icons in AROS One 1.9/2.0. see screenshot, sono solo alcune delle icone già create.

SMB2 also works well from Virtual Machine (VMWare), Windows side I created a "Network Drive" on Win7, and copied the "DosDriver" to the WBStartup of AROS One x86, on reboot everything is mounted automatically.

Experience with Sharing is very positive, especially if you use a "Network Drive," see screenshot above.

Basically by mounting the SMB2 DOSDrivers via the WBStartup folder, Wanderer will make the share available with Windows automatically, showing the icon on the Wanderer

Positive thing that the Filesystem is perfect, unlike the FAT32 of Pendrive you can rename from lower case to upper case without the loss of the file or folder.

Other Positive thing is that data can be copied quickly, add new data to the share without the need to mount or unmount anything, as was the case with PenDrive

Nuova versione 1.02 del software "RPN Scientific+"  installata su AROS O

RPN Scientific+ is a scientific, programmer, and statistic, it allows entry in and simultaneously displays values in decimal, hexadecimal,  binary, and time notation.  The programmer functions allow displaying values of Long, Word, and Byte signed or unsigned numbers.  Numbers and basic functions can be entered using the number pad on your keyboard.

The calculator is stack-based with 4 registers.  The stack can be manipulated using the buttons in the upper right of the
calculator.  They function per Forth language counterparts. Various options can be set by toggling the green keys.  For
example, DEG when pressed toggles from angles in degrees to  angles in radians.  The FP button alternates between floating point and integer mode.  Entering in the Hex or Binary display triggers integer mode.  Press FP to return to floating
point.

On AROS One x86 how would I find which def icon belongs to which file based on file signature?

Is it better to get a datatype of the file then detect the base name?

Which is the best way to get the def icon name based on an unknown file?

The def icons are associated with any file either by extension, or by the first characters internal file.

MIDI file example Descriptor datatypes

- Through extension .MIDI or .MID
- Through file internal acronym, see screenshot !
