Next time I'll try using MorphOS, as it looks like it has an option to burn the ISO straight from the zip archive, thus getting around the 2 GB file limit.

I always use Windows and never had a problem, of course it is better to unzip the ZIP first, also the burning program can be important. If you have NTFS on Windows you have no problem with the file size.

P.S. thanks for the tip on NTFS partitions - I'll be giving that a go (looks like the handler has moved on somewhat from the 2016 version).

From Storage you have to choose the latest version with name "ntfs3g-handler", and rename it "ntfs-handler", It is not installed because it is being tested, use with caution.

Finally got to the bottom of this and it wan't a corrupted download but an odd bios option for the eee PC. Its bios battery back-up is dead and the main battery just died too, so as soon as the power cable is removed the bios resets.

It was refusing to boot from the DVD despite setting it as the first boot device, so on looking around I found an option 'Operating system installed' set to 'Finsihed', so I put this to 'Start' and this allowed the DVD boot and install. However, it seems that if it is set to 'Finished' (which is the default) you can't access any USB storage at all, at least from AROS. With is set to 'Start', USB works. Wierd, especially as there is an entirely separate setting for USB enabled/disabled.

Cheers,
Nigel.

Just booted up on the Samsung n130 (via USB stick) and everthing is looking fine apart from the perrenial issue with the trackpad; For some reason for many years now the driver (i8042.hidd) does not work (not just the n130 either, this was the case with my n145 too). I have to use a very old version (attached); maybe worth putting into Storage for any other Samsung netbook users out there?

Cheers,
Nigel.

I confirm that the Driver "i8042.hidd" "2016" on some PCs makes the Touchpad work well, on my Samsung R730 the Touchpad was not working, now with the 2016 "i8042.hidd" it works perfectly !

Actually the driver is from earlier than 2016 - something like 2012 I think.

Actually the version is the same as the current Driver, both are v1.6, the problem might be due to the complilations that occurred after 2012.

Just hit a very serious problem (at least for me) - ArosPDF crashes. This is both on the Samsung n130 and eee PC; please see the attached screenshot. It's a bit variable; somtimes it's on loading the PDF, other times on closing after the PDF has been displayed.

Cheers,
Nigel.

Are you using AROS One? i see a Window Theme not present in my AROS One.

Can you attach a PDF Document that creates that problem so that I will try it on other PCs, it may also be that it is a format PDF not supported by ArosPDF.

Yes it is not an Aros One therme, it's an imported Icaros theme (sorry, just happen to like it) but it's definitely Aros One core files. As mentioned, this error also occured on the eee PC with is a new, purely Aros One, install.

Ths PDF is one that works perfectly with the 2016 install but is too big to install and for some reason ArosExec will not even let me put up the ink to it??

I've just tried ArosPDF from 2016 and that gives the same crash on the 1.8 install, so it's somethng deeper in the system than just the ArosPDF program. I'm afriad, for the Samsung at least, I'm gong to be rolling back to the 2016 install as I can't be without a PDF viewer. I'll leave Aros One 1.8 on the eee PC for further testing.

Cheers,
Nigel.

Edit: Just thought of a work-around, at lest until the error (hopefully) gets fixed. I just converted this PDF to PS using pdf2ps and then conerted back to PDF using Ghostscript; ArosPDF can now view. Trying to directly write another PDF from the original using Ghostscript did fail though, so it look  slike it is an 'awkward' PDF but as noted it could be viewed in the 2016 distro, so this does seem to be a regression.

P.S. am I just being stupid (quite possibly...) or is Ghostscript not included in the Aros One distribution? I copied the files  from Icaros.

OK, this is wierd, the message baord software absolutey refuses to post the link, even if I mangle it by e.g. replacing '/' with '\'???.  If you Google for "AQA A-level Physics formula sheet" you should find it...

I am able to confirm. It is the darn immunify that is broken as hell (do they even understand they write shit software).

Unfortunately this happens on occasion, and I have no idea why. Sometimes it seems trigger-happy on certain files but it also happens to get triggered when you paste some assembler or normal program output.

Note that you need to be careful when this happens to you because if you insist and try this a number of times in a row then your access will be blocked (that is besides the captcha crap that you need to go through to unblock your ip address). It can take up to several hours for you to be able to reach the website again but am assuming the immunify software is so stupid to not be able to tell friend from foe that you might end up with a blockage that lasts even longer.

Many thanks for the advice on this - I will take care in future!

To get back on topic, the file that you mentioned is it:
a) AQA-7408-SDB
b) AQA-74082-INS-JUN19
c) AQA-8463-ES-INS
d) none of the above

I can reproduce that problem on x86_64 ABIv1 hosted.

Ths PDF is one that works perfectly with the 2016 install...

Please do "version freetype2.library full" on that 2016 install and tell the result.
