Find  HERE the new AROS One v1.5 version

AROS One: Finally after a long time I am pleased to release my new version of AROS One x86 ABIv0.

Many new features, among them the new Dual-PNG icons for Drawers and Applications created by me where I have been inspired to many icons of the Amiga world and not only, some of them invented by me.

Another new feature is the new Core by Deadwood that adds many features, 64Bit support, various updates and fixes.

AROS One has grown considerably, the compacted ISO occupies 1GB but includes more than 2.5 GB of software, much of the best software released for AROS ABIv0.

My advice is to try AROS One x86 first on a Virtual Machine preferably VMWare for its ease of use and speed, I attach some video Tutorial that shows how to install AROS One x86.

One 68k 1.4 , Installation on VMVare: Tutorial Video (for optimal viewing set the video to  720p)

One 68k 1.4 , Installation on VirtualBox: Tutorial Video (for optimal viewing set the video to  720p)

One 68k 1.4 Installation on PC Reale Inspiron Mini 91: Tutorial Video (for optimal viewing set the video to  720p)

IMHO, icons have become much worse.

First, no favorite glow effect and they themselves don't change color. Icons are only slightly reduced when selected, so it is difficult to distinguish the selected icon from the unselected one. I'm not saying anything about design - it's a matter of taste, it's just inconvenient.
Secondly, in the file view mode, these icons become bad. I will illustrate this:

There are tested installers in my distributions, they could have been left, since the programs themselves are separately and the system has InstallerLG.

Yes it's true the animation is minimal, in the future I will add the Glow.

About the CD icon, after creating it I forgot to set the mode, go to SYS:Prefs/ENV-Archive and change the setting of the def_CDROM.info.

As soon as possible I attach here the fixed CDROM icon

hello aGGreSSor and thanks, so I didn't forget anything, the problem is that the "Disk" icons PNG created on OS3 and AROS 68k are seen on AROS x86 as "Project-Detail" icons

Unfortunately on AROS x86 there are no tools to change the icons from "Project" to "Disk" icons, at least I don't know them

I've solved the problem", it was not easy, but I found the solution, I attach the fixed CD/DVD icons. With these icons you will see folders and data in CDs and DVDs well

You can use processicon for that.

Paolo also the "Disk Icons" created by ProcessIcon (Icon Poser) are seen by AROS x86 as Project Icons with detail view, the original AROS x86 icons are in a different format

Strange instead that on AROS 68k the problem doesn't exist, the same Icons are correctly seen as Disk Icons.

Well, if you create a disk icon with Iconposer, and AROS 68K (which is more advanced than Icaros' x86 system files) correctly sees them as disk icons, then --> it is an AROS x86 Abiv0 issue.

I wouldn't be so afraid of this, while it is not creating real problems.

No no it's an AROS x86 problem, it's an incompatibility problem, the native AROS icons are in a different format than the AROS 68k and OS3 ones, I think the AROS x86 Volume and CD icons are similar to the MorphOS ones, in fact the MOS CD icon is compatible with AROS X86.

If for example you take a CD or HD icon from the "Nightly Build" and replace only the image this on AROS x86 will be converted automatically in Project icon.

I found the solution but it is not what it should be, I just tricked the system so that HD and CD/DVD are seen as "Folder" icons, the same icons on AROS 68k and OS3 are seen as Volumes.

Hmmmmmm... I guess icon type should be set with some byte along with images and tooltypes: can it be just a endianess issue hidden somewhere? I consider incredible that an icon which is seen as 'disk' on 68K magically turns to a 'project' with another architecture: it is the same file and should be interpretated the same way.

Yes it can be, same thing when from an icon you want to execute a file through the parameter CLI, WB or DONOTPROMPT that in the AROS x86/68k icons must be put by hand while on OS3.9 you can set it through the Tab, see screenshot

The original AROS icons are not DualPNG, while my icons created with Iconeditor are Dual-PNG.

The only tool on OS3.9 that can convert the icon to Disk is Iconedit but then it corrupts the graphics :)

Unico strumento su OS3.9 che riesce a converire l'icona in Disco è Iconedit ma poi corrompe la grafica :)

I started the conversion, the icons folders now have all the GLOW, for the applications I have to recreate the icons because of the obre that do not allow a precise Glow.

I fixed the MPlayer GUI, the various buttons had some artifacts, I took the opportunity to set Zune with a more professional gray banded color.

As mentioned I added the Glow to the drawer icons, while to the Applications icons I'm adding the "mirror" effect, the Glow did not give a good performance on white.

since you didn't mention me in your forums regarding the program I personally funded rnopublisher at jvp rno, I ask you specifically to remove it from your distribution because it doesn't belong to you, shortly I will ask jpv rno to remove it publicly at least as regards the version aros, only paolone can use it in its distribution, this is because you are only an IT profiteer and without education, last thing I will personally check if you have removed the latter from your distribution 8)
