I have been using on AROS One InstallerAROS from the new build you posted, and now Windows has been placed in the Grub, I noticed that in your new build also "kernel.gz" has changed, I have replaced this file on AROS One as well.

I'm glad the fix worked.

The build is from current state of ABIv0 branch which has the following 16 commits more than the last release:

deadwood, is it possible to restore "Restart AROS" (see screenshot), it was working fine with "ABI_V0 May 20 2019", also is it possible to run "Restart AROS" from a Shell?

I am trying with a script to do a hot theme change, with the Status command I can close and then restart wanderer, everything works fine, but the Theme is not replaced.

I think this happens because when I close Wanderer, the top bar still remains active, is there any command that closes wanderer totally, including the bar? it would be solved with the reset mentioned above "Restart AROS", but it would be more functional if you can close only wanderer.

Does the radeon driver work *at all* ?
Installing on a wyse mini-pc thing, with radeon graphics (hd6320/wrestler) and native boot just starts in 640x480 4col mode.

edit: It's specifically a WYSE Z90D7 mini-PC, 8GB RAM (2.7gb usable, understood and fine as to why), radeon graphics

If there's a trick to getting it going, i'd much like to know what it is.

Why is Wanderer somehow special in that its windows don't require closing when a theme is changed. That always annoyed me a lot when trying to change themes.

In Teme prefs you would need a command that would update the theme as happens with AfA OS workbench extension "AROS for Amiga", see small attached video:

@Devlin

Sorry the current 2d radeon driver only works on early radeon up to x800 ish on external screens, written 15 years old. We would need the driver updated as 2d is now driven by the 3d in newer cards. This is not an easy quick job though.  Although open sourced by AMD, the Gallium code is not simple to work with.

I take it you need 3d or Vesa gives distinct resolutions?

@AMIGASYSTEM

Warm reboot is unreliable in sense that it needs all the drivers to cooperate and have special code in them. Even if one driver does not have that code, you can have problems with warm reboot.

The propers solution would be to have themes hot swapped like in AfA case. Is AfA open source? Is there a repository where the codes are available? I'd rather look into implementing how theme swapping in AROS.

VESA works, but I'd prefer to go as native as possible. 3D is the ultimate goal here.
The install is fully native, as well.

I did notice that in VGA 640x480 4CLUT modes, some icons are corrupted and display garbage (such as the parent dir button) -

The 640x480 resolution is not suitable for the AROS screen and icons !

Then go for ASUS M2N68-AM SE2 board. Hardware works out of the box on it.

I found AfA OS version 4.8 lha archive on aminet. But it's only the compiled binaries. No source code was provided.

Several libraries are being replaced by AROS equivalent including icon lib and intuition lib.

Original author was Bernd Roesch. (AROS for Amiga OS).

miker, this was the AfA OS site, now unreachable, found thanks to web.archive,  there are sources and extra info.

If you need help installing AfA OS, just ask.

It's a mini-PC, can't change out the mainboard - I'm just tinkering with parts I have laying around and reporting how I get on with them.
