The Vampire team is bugfixing and adapting aros to vampire. Not all can be taken over but there are also many bugfixes.

https://github.com/ApolloTeam-dev/AROS

it would be great if one of our skilled devs left could look at it and take over the bugfixes in the official branch.

I hope someone feels motivated  :)

Speaking of AROS 68k, I noticed that the Nightly Builds are stopped at 2021-10-17 ?

All nightlies have stopped. Perhaps this happens if there are no changes

No changes? No one developing for ABIv1 ? What about the 68k sources for the Apollo Team? Aren't they backporting 68k changes? Just curious.

So far build were run even if no changes happened. Looks like someone stopped them - there are no failed builds that would indicate a problem.

As far as I know Apollo Team is not pushing changes to ABIv1. It might be by design, so that AROS developers filters what gets into the repository.

No that would not be possible. They made deeper changes to simplify the code and removed layers to make it faster. That would break everything else. And I was told that the changes are so deep that the roms not even support RTG on UAE. It is very optimized for the hardware (Vampire). But there are also a number of bugfixes which make also sense in the official branch.

In my opinion a Hybrid AROS system is not very useful, AROS 68k should be a universal OS and not specific for a given Card !

If you look at it as a producer of the hardware and make your living with it that might be attractive. But in my view Aros should run on different hardware and emulation to make it easier for people to use it. It is a matter of view.

Yes also because as cited in the Nightly Build "The native version for m68k Amigas or WinUAE. This version is binary compatible with AmigaOS".

WinUAE is currently the most compatible and powerful "platform" where AROS 68k works best.

The plan right now is that before I get back to synchronizing between repositories I still have to make progress on Scalos for AxRuntime.
