True you could use a FAT or FAT32 drive to do that, but for beginners I just thought a single step write image to usb would be simpler.
I don't think you can use a partition on the Icaros desktop lite pendrive image to do that because it takes over the whole
drive according to the Icaros website. You could make an Icaros pendrive yourself to do that, but that would mean you already had
Icaros working, beginners can't do that. Anyway I was just thinking out loud, the distributions are very good as they are, it's just that
there is quite a lot that might go wrong at the beginning of trying to use them.

I usually in the installer select the usbscsi drive and do a wipedisk, then proceed with the installation  :)

If you prepare the partitions first by creating the first RAW and the second in FAT32, AROS will install on the raw partition and leave the FAT32 partition free.

I use this technique to create the DualBoot AROS/Win10 plus a third FAT32 partition shared between the two OS:

The USB image can be made to create a Pendrive with AROS preinstalled, in fact there is this procedure, if instead to create the Live Pendrive you have to use the Script present on the Distribution that will clone the DVD with the data where the script is placed.

I understand what you're saying. I was talking about the experimental version called "Icaros desktop light pendrive". The Icaros website says:

"Beware of the fact that your pendrive will be cleaned off completely with any data already available on it and, more over, any space available on bigger drives will be wasted, until you recover it by cleaning off the AROS partition and re-format the pendrive again."

That's the best way for beginners I think, because they don't need to do any DVD burning or making partitions. Most people don't even know what they are.

Yeah I get that Salvo, but I assume you mean from another drive to the USB stick? I was talking about beginners who don't yet have any Aros version. IT could be easier if they could get a preconfigured Icaros desktop with all the best programs without having to install it, just flash it to a drive and then go. Like I said much earlier, it was only a thought, and since then I have been digging a bigger and bigger hole for myself haha!

Yes I confirm what is written, perhaps because the Pendrive are capricious not even the DualBoot on Pendrive works, the "Wipe" deletes everything, I do not know if it is a defect of some Pendrive or usbscsi.device, as you have seen from the Screenshots "Wipe" on the hard disk has cleaned and used only the partition "RAW" that I had created to install AROS.

Different instead for the USB image of Pendrive, this will be burned according to the size of the Pendrive, example if you create an image of a 4GB Pendrive and then burn it on a 8GB pendrive, the remaining 4GB you can format as you want even in FAT32, see my screenshot, of course all this can vary depending on the burning software used
