deadwood I noticed a strange thing about partitions, for an Amiga user on a PenDrive I created a USB image with three partitions, one in FAT32 and two in 0x76.

- On the Windows side, I formatted the FAT32 partition.
- In the 2 x76 partitions from HDToolbox I created two partitions each, two in SFS for OS3.9 and two in FFS for OS2.1

All went well, the partitions in SFS and FFS on WinUAE booted without problems.

I wanted to try this Pendrive on AROS x86, here to my amazement all partitions were automatically mounted on Wanderer, only one SFS partition (DH1) is displayed as NODOS.

In practice AROS sees and manages well the FAT32 partition, the two FFS partitions and one SFS partition (CD0).

I've done more tests and tried the Pendrive with other Distributions including Nightly Builds and the result has never changed.

This makes me think of a problem on sfs-handler, but I can be wrong, I attach screenshot made on AROS One.

Anyway it's a satisfaction, I think that AROS is the only "Amiga family OS" to show different partitions automatically.

Proving that DH1 is not really NODS, I tried the Pendrive with AROS One 68k and all four partitions created for Amiga are intact and working.

For AROS One 68k on WinUAE I mounted the two partitions separately, WinUAE can handle single partitions, the FAT32 partition was not automatically mounted by AROS 68k, I think it will need a manual mount with a mountlist.

Hopefully this means the problem will be solved when I update ABiv0 to never base of ABIv11. I'll keep a lookout for any fixes related to sfs/partition handling.

Regarding FAT32 partitions, can AROS 68k "see" them automatically like AROS x86 or do I have to create a MountList?

Also, can AROS 68k automatically mount USB devices with Poseidon like AROS x86 does?

One last thing about AROS 68k, why installAROS at the end of the installation asks for the CD-Extra (see screenshot)? Where is this CD-Extras, I didn't see it!

Isn't Extras where contributes programs are built? (Contrib repository)

No "amiga-m68k-contrib" is a big archive almost entirely dedicated to developers that contains 14.0000 files, among other things to install it would take a lot of time !

I think if you unzip this archive it will unzip to Extras directory.

BTW, noone says you have to put all of that stuff into your distribution. Even if you have 1 file in Extras, InstallAROS will just copy it over - there is no check for what is inside of Extras.

In my Distros there is no "amiga-m68k-contrib", i only took a few things that interested me.

In the Extras folder I have all the "non-system" software in thematic folders, Graphics, Music, Office etc ... see screenshot.

Only the AROS 68k installer requires the CD-Extra, the x86 installer does not make this request, however mine was just a curiosity, perhaps to answer some user who had requested it.

Since we have already the full ISO with all the Extras would it be possible to have an option of a Lite Version of AROS One with just the system and addons but not all the Extras Folder?

It would save storage space and make for faster downloads. Some people may not try AROS One if they need a 2GB ISO.

Yes, but then it would become like a Nightly Build, what's the point of a distribution without software?

If instead it must serve only to test the operating system no problem I can create it in CD-Live and USB-Live version.
