Software recommendations for AROS.

As i'm new to AROS, I'm looking for these kind of software:

- text editor
- file manager
- paint program
- icon replacer
- MOD player
- MP3 player

I'm preferring native soft instead of ports.

hello you are welcome there is this software

vim advanced tex editor with gui
file manager icaros desktop i have dopus4 and dopus5
paint program there is zunefig(vector) and zunepaint or lodepaint(opengl required)
mod player zupaplayer or harmonyplayer
mp3 player mplayer

the software is on aros archives

Thanks, except for Vim, all other software are working fine. But I still need something to replace icons.

the icons on aros are png images just create the image and rename it in "name_program.info"

as text editor alternatively there is the system "editor" in sys:tools, edisyn for programmers and not only and annotate, the latter can be found in aros archives

GrafX2 is great for pixel art, it even supports colour cycling and loading & saving of various file formats… lbm (iff & anim — retains colour cycling, naturally), gif (retains layers or animation & colour cycling), png etc…
And it is still in development!

about zupaplayer for mods I didn't understand how to manage the playlists, anyway with harmony you can upload entire directories, I find it very functional

Thats strange because metemp3 works really fine with me plus metemp3 uses direct AHI driver so better sound playback quality.

Most of the music players are writen by me and thats including HarmonyPlayer plus i port some trackers too.

delete lstloc.cache file in metemp3 folder and see if that helps..

can you tell me bit more about the problem you are having with metemp3..

i have lost most all my work and sourcecodes and i have been trying to write SFSRECOVERY tool on my spare times to resolve my harddisk for while and i have newborn baby so all hapenning but very slow.

i will update all my works if i manage to finish SFSRECOVERY tool.

when I load the mp3 file it doesn't play it and if I remove the filelstloc.cache everything crashes, however I know about your work on aros, I've been using it for many years

Try
Metemp3 filename.mp3 using command line
Or
Fire up metemp3 and drag n drop mp3 file into list view and double click on the file.

Please try and report back.

Another thing about Mplayer is that the song names appear on MeteMp3 no :-\, volume bar works!
