Can Ai be used to help port programs to Aros? see https://youtu.be/2FeymQoKvrk it would be great for open-source projects

As to quote and comment at the first sentence of that youtube video: ChatGPT is all over social media... but ChatGPT is also full of bullshit and lies. It also knows it lies and does not has any problem with doing so, not even after confronting it with its behaviour. How is that for an AI that itself claims to be conscience.
It is only a tool that can aid (if you know what you are doing and if you understand the discussed subject) , not do the work for you.

I was not talking about social media use there are programming aids. like porting open-source projects to our platform. I do not expect it to do all coding, but even if it does the basic code work of 30 percent codings it could save time.

I was simply quoting the first sentence of that youtube video that you linked to.

My response has nothing to do with social media other then that social media is a PITA  :)

ChatGPT lies about everything if it pleases so. And that includes code *period*

So, you can't rely on anything that it produces and for sure you can not be certain about the origin of the code used by the AI.

ChatGPT seem to refuse to answer citation related questions and sometimes even claims there to be no copyright in what it produces. Without citation such statements are useless.

imho It is useless for real life production.

edit: typo's, reformatting.

I fully agree. I've tried once and that was enough (I'll share details on a future article on my blog).

It's a tool that COULD be useful on SOME things, but you should take it's output with grain of salt and triple-check it.

There's no intelligence: that's its primary problem.

In my opinion it can be used. I don't know when, but one day surely for all the software.
I tried to ask assembly code for the Atari 2600 and.... it mades it! That means it knows the hardware architectures. Amazing.

It doesn't know: it LOOKS LIKE that it knows.

Try to compile the output (if it compiles) and, in case, check if it does what was meant to do.

It is learning and to have some code output is amazing.
Give it the right time to be perfect. Anyway I'll try.

Drop me a message once it'll be "perfect". If I'm still alive... ;D

It is possibile.

Either you haven't watched the video or do you don't understand coding or you don't understand English, because it can be clearly seen that it required a lot interactions and corrections of bugs too (even come compilation errors were shown!) to reach to the final product.

And this for a very simple game like Flappy Bird...

I can code and I can understand english, not so good but I can.
Only to think something like that was sci-fi.

It is a begin.
Today Flappy Bird, tomorrow code for an entire O.S.

"Tomorrow" of I don't know when. It's really way too much immature.

It helps, for sure, nothing to say about that! As a supporting tool it has it's good features which removes some bothering things to do for developers. But nothing that I can see for replacing them.

Sei italiano?
Siciliano. :)
