How to participate in OpenOffice
You don't have to be a software developer to contribute to Apache OpenOffice.
A wide range of skills, levels of involvement, and degrees of experience are required for the success of this project. If you want to be part of Apache OpenOffice you can surely find an area to collaborate.
We are looking for people to:
Write or update documentation
Help new users
Recommend the project
Test the code and report bugs
fix bugs
Propose new features
Write and update software
Create artwork and other marketing materials
Collaborate with the Spanish translation of the software and the help
Donate to the Apache Software Foundation
Anything else you want to do
All these collaborations help keep the project active and strengthen the community. The project team and the wider community welcome and encourage participation, while trying to make it as easy as possible for new contributors to participate.
We maintain a list of specific areas where collaboration is needed on the Participate page of our wiki.
For other ways to get involved see the Get Involved page.
