Nice. I'd like to see how the installer works.

Normally as Installers happen on OS3, I create the script on OS3 with "InstallerGen" and then the Script will be run on Aros with "InstallerLG".

InstallerLG is compatible with Amiga Installer scripts, once I create a prototype script, with an Editor I add the target folders in the AROS One paths, easier to do than to explain :)

Only problem that might happen is some system icon in use or protected from deletion, we will see !

I picked up the whole GS850 directory from Icaos sys:system.

Besides copying "GS850", did you also do the necessary Assignments in the User-startup or in the Env-Archive\SYS\Packages ?

The link of your PDF document to parse was not working, can you attach a link that works?

For those who don't like icons on Wanderer, installed on AROS One uCommander, simple and functional program to run applications with one click.

To fit it better I had to cover the header of the program because the font was higher than the bar, an update from Serk would be appreciated, maybe in addition to fixing the title bar he would also add the ability to be able to add a background maybe transparent.

I also set the absolute path to the editor (AddNewMenu) in way that it can work even if the "uCommander" folder is moved to another location.

Yes, it needs gs850: assigned to the gs850 directory.

As mentioned, unfortunately I cannot post the link to the formula sheet as the site software rejects it. However, it's not just this PDF - I'm getting issues with other PDFs. Please see the latest error below. This is after setting the stack to 40960000 and processing the file through pdftopd and Ghostscript! To get this PDF Google 'next k9-85 mcw -surveillance-video' and it should be the first link. I'm back at work tomorrow after the summer break, so I'll soon be seeing if this is a more widespread issue with PDFs.

Cheers,
Nigel.

Edit: Just tried one of the Physics exam papers - same problem ArosPDF crashes part way through. I could view it after processing through pdftops and Ghostscript, though. Neverthless, there's clearly some serious issues with the system relating to PDFs which were not present back in the 2016 build.

It is very strange that you can't post the link, you could try a link shortener like tinyurl or use an "Imperlink" like I did for tinyurl.

Possibly you can also take a photograph of the link and post a screenshot.

I tuoi file PDF mi servono per fare i confronti e cercare di capire se esiste un rimedio, visto che nel 2016 funzionavano, inoltre serve per eventuale segnalazione a deadwood.

Note that I haven't read the whole discussion, but the error you are pasting indicates that AROS detected stack override.

Do you launch ArosPDF and then open a pdf file OR do you double-click on a pdf file and open via deficon association?

With the PDFs processed through pdftops & Ghostscript, opening from the ArosPDF appication worked  :) So I presume the stack setting is being picked up from the def_ icon rather than the application icon? Very useful to know, thank you!

Unfortunately it still does not help with viewing the orginal PDF; please see below the error log from the exam paper I mentioned above, which was definitely viewable with the 2016 system.

Cheers,
Nigel.

Screen shot, great idea! Please see below for the 'next k9-85 mcw -surveillance-video' link.

It is not strange it is the stupid imunify front-end software at the hosting side.

We have used a URL shortener two times now.

Or imunify can go take a dump somewhere else....

I have got something better then stupid photographs and shorteners.

goto: https://www.base64decode.org/
paste: aHR0cHM6Ly9maWxlc3RvcmUuYXFhLm9yZy51ay9yZXNvdXJjZXMvcGh5c2ljcy9BUUEtNzQwOC1TREIuUERG
press decode

The result in the result text-box should display the url that can not directly be pasted into a message here on this board.

I use a browser plugin for en/de-coding base64 but it can be done as described as well.

edit:
For the K985 manual:
goto: https://www.base64decode.org/

Thank you for the valuable information, yes the photo is not optimal, there are unclear fonts, the best solution would have been a copy-paste to a text file and then attach the text file here :)

@ntromans
If the PDF document is what you see in the screenshot I have found the culprit that creates the Guru, if this is not the document, try replacing the "freetype2.library" library from AROS One (updated) with the one attached here, the stack set for defaul from the def_ icons 400.000

Yes, that's hte one. I'll try replacing the freetype2 library and see how I get on.

Cheers,
Nigel.

Edit: That was a ice bit of detective work, with that version of freetype2.library PDFs are working perfectly! Thank you  ;D

P.S. One small observation today, possibly (or not) of interest to the developers: on my Samsung n130 (IntelGMA graphics) with an external monitor attached you have to boot with acpi enabled; if you try to boot with noacpi (as I had set witht the 2016 install to help with powering down quickly using the Samsung's awkward power button) it hangs part way through initialising the system (i.e. before Wanderer is launched). If I get a couple of minutes tomorrow I'll make a note of exactly where it stalls.

Ok for now we use this version until deadwood releases the fixed version.

This problem if not dependent on "AROS One" you need to report it to deadwood, if you can do some testing with deadwood's Reference Distros.

Finished the Office section icons as well, even though some people may not like me or ignore the great work, we proceed without pause to finish the "White" Icons package as soon as possible

Another interesting Application installed on AROS One x86, it is BeeBase V1.0 Multiplatform and Multilanguage for m68k-AmigaOS; PPC-AmigaOs; PPC-MorphOS; i386-AROS; AROS x86_64-v11, the program works very well on AROS One x86, also created DualPNG icons in the style of AROS One,  (i have yet to test it on AROS One 68k).

BeeBase is a relational, programmable database system with graphical user interface for Windows, Mac, Linux, AROS and Amiga.

BeeBase is open source software distributed under the terms of the GNU General Public License (GPL).

If you like BeeBase and would like to support it then you are welcome to  make a donation.  Please visit https://sourceforge.net/projects/beebase for more information.

Features
--------
BeeBase is well suited for managing structured data with clear semantics that can be organized into tables and fields.  It can be regarded as an application development environment where an application designer creates the database structure and user interface, and users of the application
enter and process data on a regular basis.

There are numerous applications for BeeBase including managing addresses, music and movies, photo collections, your family tree, or your income and expense.  Some users run their entire business using BeeBase from project planning to creating offers, article and part management, creating bills and invoices, and tracking their finances.

The strength of BeeBase lies in its graphical user interface and its programming capabilities.  It allows you to process data in various ways,  e.g. automatic calculations upon user input, generation of reports, import and export of data, etc.  For example BeeBase can be used for  calculating the total amount of income, or the total amount of recorded  time on a CD, or to automatically create and print serial letters to your customers.
