Try other USB ports, not all USB ports are always handled by the same chip on laptops, especially true of USB3 ports.
Additionally, check if the BIOS has an option for legacy USB devices and try toggling that
Another thing to try is to boot AROS without the keyboard,
then plug it in when the workbench is loaded,
then there should be a popup typically, showing it is detected
Also, try the keyboard on a windows PC just to make sure the cable isnt damaged or stuff like that
I have never had an USB keyboard not work, so you are right that it is strange.
