I'm not a programmer but maybe I'll be able to update openssl, at least this, the rest I won't be able to do it, everything is possible from the patch created by nicola scendoni :)

the situation apparently after the patch made by nicola scendoni is this, since as I was checking the "ignore ssl errors" box on settings / security, surely that problem was created on ebay that you didn't see the products and the posts on social media like facebook, now I set the browser as chrome 42, on facebook it's ok, at least the page displays it perfectly, only it's a little slow to load despite my xeon x5570 at 3 ghz, these days I upgrade to a new processor that costs a lot and is at least more powerful, is a x5690 at 3.48 ghz, to finish nicola scendoni has not completed the upgrade to ffmpeg but I don't know maybe you can return to a previous version that at least works, yes because l latest revision of deadwood from the ability to watch movies :)

I'm proceeding as written by nicola scendoni, to have the functional owb version of the html5 and openssl player upgraded, ffmpeg will always remain the existing one

i hope :-\

I'm applying the patch by removing the part related to ffmpeg, I think you're applying I just have to wait for it to finish and then compile we'll see :-X

apparently package has not been found on a given location. it can be verified clicking on the link you posted. google another valid location and replace it within the script.

@salvo

Also make sure you have an internet connection in the VM with the Build System running Ubuntu 18.04 mine constantly drops the connection. So I have to restart Ubuntu to get a good connection.

actually imho its enough to check if the connection is on at all. normally right top of the screen, but yeah ubuntu seems to lose that at times so that it isnt even possible to reactivate. strange that such a popular disto always has so many problems.

Hi Salvo and others

Sorry I read this thread only today....
I compiled successfully Odyssey with the new OpenSSL, but as you know that version have issues with video. If you clone the version from my repository you should be able to compile as well. I came across the issues decribed in this thread. The result for me is:
- A very unstable Odyssey when I compile on a 64 bit Ununtu 16 or 18
- A more "stable" Odyssy when I compile with a 32 bit Ununtu, but video doesn't work.

I tried to work on the issue with video,  but when I realized that I cannot use gdb I gave up.
I attach the scripts I used with a small description.

Here a quick description

settings.sh - Here I declare flags for compilation. The default settings are the more stable I found. You should modify the variable AROS to the path where you want to compile. The default is: /home/aros/abi_v0
provision.sh - install packages required for compilation
fetch_AROS.sh - fetch AROS and Odyssey from repository and prepare the links for compilation
compile_aros.sh - compile AROS
compile_odyssey.sh - compile Odyssey
start.sh - start the compled Odyssey

Please let me know if you have issues.

ch1ll (Nicola)

thanks ch1ll, what I intended to do was to keep the current version of the browser where it works for example youtube and update openssl only, I think I was succeeding but I was wrong to give the target to start configuration

See you soon
