I briefly tested five machines with 20191209-d7 and didn't notice any regressions compared with 20190429-d4.

Hello! If you wish to extensively test D7 in a broader AROS environment, please download and install this new beta of Icaros Desktop. It includes all latest improvements to the distribution, along with D7 AROS system files. Have a nice day!

Some glitches I noticed with D7

- black workbench desktop when exiting a fullscreen application with VMware native driver, any resolution. You can clean the screen and have it back to normal by grabbing a windows and moving it like it was a sponge. This also happened before.

- repeated pixel lines when scrolling up and down contents with any application, in particular this can be experienced on OWB, this also happened before, again with VMware native video driver.

- prefs/ZUNE does not work. Can't open it.

- this is new: I can't REBOOT COLD anymore, because during reset VMware shuts down completely instead of rebooting the whole virtual machine. I guess it has to do with ACPI support. ONOH, warm reboot now seems to work OK, while before it didn't.

- cannot change stack size with magellan "icon -> information" tool. I tried changing zune.info in prefs from 8192 to 65536 (before) and 1000000 (after), but no change, it always tell stack size is 8192.

NO PROBLEM WITH WANDERER

Are you testing D7 ISO directly or integrated into Icaros? I tried opening Prefs/Zune in VirtualBox using VESA and it opens.

prefs/ZUNE works for me but is the standard D7 iso, maybe the problem is the TheBar class

Paolo with the VMware "Native Driver" (SVGA) Zune Prefs works fine, see screenshot, try cleaning up the Zune folder in "Prefs/Env-Archive/Zune", leave only "global.prefs" and "usethemeprefs"

The other problems you reported are confirmed, I had also mentioned them in previous builds

@deadwood

I noticed that on AROS 68k with the new "Wanderer prefs" the "important" problem I reported several times (see screenshot) has been solved, i.e. the possibility to make a "real" move of a file or folder "in the same path", in practice with AROS x86 moving an icon or a folder makes a normal copy, instead of moving it.

Is it possible to have on AROS x86 the Wanderer version of ARSOS 68k?

AMIGASYSTEM

It mostly depends on the date of the code base for 68k. AROS 68k as far as I know relies on a more recent set of system files based on ABIv1 development. AROS x86 however relies on the system files that deadwood has backported and those are organized by date. But we are still a year or two behind ABIv1.

About a year ago a change was made to Wanderer such that if you drag a file to a drawer on the same volume it will move it. If it's a different volume it will copy it. Maybe those changes will be in one of the more recent releases of ABIv0.

@AMIGASYSTEM

@miker1264 Thanks for pointing this out. The change with moving is on 2020-05, so beyond the target date for this release, but I see if I can still add it.

Thanks deadwood, I know that version of Wanderer 68k is more up to date, but having it now would be very helpful !

Thanks. All reports I do are on integrated Icaros so excuse me if something may be related to external software.

After all, the point of integrating D7 into Icaros Desktop is exactly seeing the interaction with AROS software.

In case you are reporting something related to core system (that came on my build iso), please repeat to test the with raw ISO to provide more context :)
