I now have 4 laptops with Icaros 2.2.4 and 1 with AspireOS all vary in stability, storage capacity, screen size/resolution.

I am enjoying my AROS experience.

I would like to have Icaros running on my Asus X555L, not really for the 1TB storage but for the resolution and quality of the laptop

I still can't get online with any of them though.

Once I have experienced AROS further I will do a follow-up to https://blitterwolf.blogspot.com/2018/11/getting-aros-up-and-running-part-1.html

I have an Eee PC 1000 HD, which works great with AROS. WiFi works with the Atheros 5007EG chip, and sound also works. I think it has some Realtek sound chip, not quite sure. Hardware accelerated 3D works with the integrated i915 GMA, but the lighting effects are a bit glitchy.

Dell latitude D520 is that best laptop I found to run AROS.
It does need a change of WiFi card to get online, but very easy to find on e-bay.
A little warning is that there are some WiFi cards that seams of the right type, but freeze AROS.

I remember that laptop. My high school had hundreds of them. I assume the Aspire One is pretty good for AROS, also.
