I have 2 ssds in my AROS box. A 40GB drive for the OS and Work, and a 240GB drive for games, emulation and everything else.
Try as I might it seems impossible to use more than 7.8GB per drive, whether it be using InstallAROS or HDToolbox.
About a decade or so ago AROS HDToolbox had issues, but manually putting in size of volumes would work. Nowadays however it seems worse, with it either going back to 7.8GB or crashing HDToolbox.
I have isos of AROS from 2014 still, and I'd just use them to partition drives, but unfortunately they wont boot on my current AROS system.
Outside of building a computer that the old isos boot on and accessing a more functional HDToolbox and setting up the SSDs that way is there a way to use more than 7.8GB per drive with AROS currently?
Weirdly, the 40GB drive shows the drive as 7.8GB under "partition 0", but going deeper into it hd0 and hd1 are 7.8GB and 29.7GB respectively. I cant for the life of me remember how I did this though. Might've partitioned using a different live booting OS, but I dont recall having done that.
Trying to just use InstallAROS results in the same 7.8GB total limit (ie. setting AROS partition to 6GB will make the second partition just 1.8GB).
I might try extracting an older version of HDToolbox from one of the old isos and see if that works, but there's no guarantee that older HDToolbox versions will even load on current AROS builds.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
It's getting quite frustrating and it's probably something that needs to be addressed anyway for people wanting to use AROS for anything more than just messing around/tinkering.
7.8GB is enough to fool with, but far from enough to use the system properly.
Ive got a few projects I finally have time to get into, but this is proving to be a showstopper.
