I guess don't update Ubuntu and variants going forward
Just curious how this will effect ID development going forward

we've been talking about this for some time, but are there alternatives or not? we want to unify?

An alternative could be Debian.

According to this there aren't plans to drop i386 support from Debian.

It has some similarity with my absolute refusal to consider a move of Icaros Desktop towards i386 ABIv1.

@Argo
32 bit are here to stay, we'll need decades to get rid of them. On AROS we have a worse compatibility issue, since AROS x64 cannot run 32 bit software AT ALL.

Please we can prepare a device for drivers,
we have serious problems there !!
There is hardware, but it is almost impossible to set up a decent computer,
Linux only works well with nvidia, we forgot about it, and I have my doubts intel,
It's stubbornness please!
