Any guide help link , I can config a usb pen and I can see the drive on os3.1 side but I can not delete or format via janus 1.4

Or how to mount .hdf a a hardisk file so I can read and write via janus 1.4 (btw 1.4 latest or there is newer one)

Unfortunately, Janus-UAE does not seem to find the volume; you can solve the problem by initializing the pendrive with InstallAROS, you will be able to choose the file system SFS (recommended) or FFS, then from Wanderer you can format the pendrive.

Once this is done, the Pendriver will be bootable and everything can be copied and run from that volume, see screenshot

The icon you see on Wander indicates an ADF, this is because Wanderer does not distinguish between a Floppy and a HardDisk, basically both have the same acronym (internal)

About the Hardfiles I think you need to know the parameters of the HardFile (Heads, cylinder, Blocksize etc..) and enter them manually inside in uaerc.config file, these parameters you can see from WinUAE if you load the HardFile.

Example Mounting my working HardFile on JanusUAE:

hardfile2=RW,dho:PROGDIR:HardFile/WB31.hdf,32,1,2,512,0

hardfile2=<access>,<device>:<path>,<sectors>,<surfaces>,<reserved>,<blocksize>,<bootpri>

All the info for mounting HardFiles can be found here, you can also configure the Filesystem SFS or PFS

Thank you for the help, my problem was hardfile was in another partition (dh2:) and once I moved that to same folder as janus than all working, thank you again..

About SFS, I tried to mount a 100MB AROS 68k Hardfile in SFS, this is recognized by the JanusUAE GUI, however it doesn't recognize the SFS Filesystem, from the link the translation doesn't help me to understand, I used this config but it seems not to work, any idea !

AROS 68k roms include sfs-handler ?

hardfile2=rw,dho:PROGDIR:HardFile/ArosOne-68k.hdf,63,4,2,512,0,PROGDIR:HardFile/SmartFilesystem

Solved, with AROS x86 you have to use sfs-handler native AROS x86 :)

AROS One 68k on SFS formatted HardFile booted by JanusUAE.

Hi AMIGASYSTEM,

i am glad you have sorted out, i was busy adding my old amiga programs..

pendrive option failed on me so what i done is download 500mg empty amiga hardfile than i assigned that as one of the drive than i booted with 3.1 , install AmigaOs3.9 i had the cd and all i done is install 3.9 via cd by just double clicking install.

I have not had any other problems, its fast and i even installed "p.pos prodad" that also installed just to see how it handles but all gone smooth.

its very stable so far , i am running all native on my icaros with latest update on acer asipre one D150, just to test i installed all to my arosone and both distros runs without problem..

What i can do if i remmember and fine time , i will write a application to format 68k in x86AROS natively should help people digging here and there to create .hdf..

Regarding the Pendriver, besides being able to initialize and format directly from AROS x86, it is much easier to do it from WinUAE.

Mind you, with WinUAE you can initialize HarDisk and Pendrive natively AMiGA, then create multiple partitions and also choose FFS, SFS OR PFS Filesystem.

I ceated a video showing how to initialize and partition a pedrive from WinUAE, specifically I created two partitions HD0 AND HD1, formatted them and then copied the OS.

Having done this on AROS One x86 I mounted the Pendrive and booted from JanusUAE successfully, if I wanted I could also install OS3.9, although you can do it directly from CD, without the need to install OS3.1 first.

Regarding the mouse, hiding the second mouse native Aros x86, would be very useful and would greatly improve emulation, on WinUAE this problem does not exist.

Also successfully tested a Pendriver with two partitions with filesystem SFS and AROS One 68k installed, AROS 68k runs quite fast, there is only the annoying problem of the double pointer, also the Pointer moves slowly and jerkily.

I'm doing some tests with Janus-UAE, I was able to get Standard UAE HardFiles, and "RDB" HardFiles (partitioned with HDToolBox OS3) also recognised with SFS Filesystems.

As mentioned above with JanusUAE also AROS 68k (RTG) works fine, but I can't get the AmigaOS RTG mode to work, I am asked to Install Picasso 96, strange in the Hardfile Picasso 96 is installed, the same HardFile on WinUAE RTG works fine.

I also tried to start an AfA Ose RTG system, here I am asked for the "Mathieedoubtrans.library", which of course is present in the HardFile.

For the tests I used KickStart 3.1 (A1200 and A4000), with the AROS Roms the Amigas RTG systems don't start, AROS 68k works fine instead!

I hope that the new JanusUAE2 will also be released for ABIv0

Janus-UAE2 has not been developed any further the last 5 years and currently I don't plan to continue there.

And for v0.. Janus-UAE2 is based on WinUAE (more or less directly compiled from WinUAE sources, including the GUI as MUI gui). It should compile for 32-bit, too, but I never tried.

But all nice Janus-UAE1 features (integration etc) are not yet in Janus-UAE2, so someone would have to port that stuff to Janus-UAE2, too.

If nobody else does it, Janus-UAE2 will stay as it is.

Thanks o1i, hopefully someone will continue the development on JanusUAE2

Regarding JanusUAE1, am I doing something wrong when starting OS3 RTG? on HardFile as mentioned it asks me to install Picasso 96, strange because the same HardFile works fine on WinUAE !

It's been ages since I used it myself, 10 years? So I might not be of much help here.

Its source base is old (really really old), so it won't support a lot of stuff you might have configured in WinUAE. So an emulated Gfx Card might work on WinUAE but juae does not even know it.

Thank you, but strangely enough AROS One X86 'RTG' runs very well on JanuUAE1, albeit a little slow!
