Hi,

I got an HP Elitebook 8530w today and will get a second the next days. It' an interesting laptop:

- 15" 1920x1200 display (maximum)
- Nvidia Quadro FX 770M 512 MB
- Core 2 Duo up to 2.8 GHz
- up to 8 GB DDR2
- HD and DVD (bay can be used for HD)
- Touchpad and Trackpoint
- Fingerprint sensor
- 2x Mini-PCI-Express (full size)
- PCMCIA slot
- eSATA
- Mini Firewire 400
- Modem, Ethernet
- HDMI and VGA
- Very good graphical BIOS with mouse support
- inbuilt testing functions
- Standard battery + additional snap-on battery
- Docking Station with 2x PS/2, Serial, Parallel, VGA, DVI, S-Video, Composite and more
- Webcam optional

The most interesting feature: It boots the Icaros Desktop installer directly from USB! There are a lot of errors displayed, but it also continued after the battclock resource message.
Actually I have to boot in VESA mode until everything is installed. Is the nVidia Quadro FX 770M installed? The chip is based on the GeForce 9600M GT.

Greets, RC.

hi

as I understand in the laptopt only the Intel GMA is currently supported, I have an interesting laptop with an NVIDIA 8400M, but it only works in the Vesa, the desktop version of this card works fine :-\

What error did you encounter, installing Icaros through a USB PenDrive works fine, i would say a very good method that avoids to burn the ISO.
What program did you use to burn the image to the PenDrive? Have you tried another Pendrive?
