Here's a Crazy Idea.

The source code for RayStorm is available for Amiga m68k. I can use the 68k Make File to compile the Amiga version. I can then test it.

The Apollo Team assures me with some degree of certainty that if I upgrade the FPGA core on my A500 V2+ to Gold 2.11 with FPU that RayStorm Scenario will work. Cinema 4D works great on V2+.

Here's the crazy part. MUI works on my Amiga OS 3.9 and if I can compile the 68k sources why can't I integrate the new MUI User Interface I'm planning with the 68k version? It will allow me to fine tune it for the i386 version. And if all goes well it will be a gift to Amiga 68k and AROS 68k.

Would it be worthwile to update the user interface?

I think it's a good idea and I don't think the interface needs an update, that's fine, at least when I started the program it seemed nice enough to me

great miker :)

Did you run RayStorm on 68k? Were you able to render?

If so what was your hardware configuration?

Post a screenshot of yours.

The MUI User Interface with colorful image buttons at top drawing area in the middle, buttonbar menu on the side, and statusbar at bottom may be used for a future Paint Program, or Icon Editor or Web browser. So you should get accustomed to seeing it. ;-)

The Amiga version of RayStorm could use a small update with some colorful buttons at top, buttonbar menu like Lightwave and the existing two-tone navigation buttons below the buttonbar.

I'll do a before and after screenshot of both. aROS will need an updated user interface and I would have to integrate the new buttons with the existing program anyhow. Why not fine tune it on Amiga? Besides the images for the colorful buttons on the Toolbar at top are 32 color ILBM images with 5 bitplanes. That's perfect for 68k.
