Ok, guys. I gave up on usb.

Why give up the Pendrive? is the easiest and fastest method to install AROS, with RUFUS of write the USB image, the ISO is not needed for this procedure.

Basically you have to write with Rufus THIS USB image (first unzip the ZIP archive)

Why give up the Pendrive?

And what about Balena Etcher you've mentioned on you website? Rufus is Windows Only, and I don't have it.

I can see there is file with .vhd extention. It's of 4GB size. Can be a pendrive bigger?

Yes on Windows Balena Etcher works well, if you use Linux you could use Rufus with Wine, however you could try any program that writes ISO/USB images, anyway nin risk anything, Pendrives "don't they fry"  :)

If you used the pendriver you need to run InstallAROS, path:

SYS:Utilities/InstallAROS

Where do you have to install AROS One on HD ? is there any other Oparative system ? this is important otherwise you destroy everything if you don't know the procedure

Guys, I finally found a time to check out this AROS installation.
I want AROS to be the only system on HDD. I choose "Erease disk".
Unfortunately the script Install AROS stops at "Could not open root partition of ata.device, unit 0"
I got only Linux on my laptop. Any ideas?

Question you would like to delete Linux and install only AROS, or do you want to install Aros in DualBoot with linux?

@Amigasystem
The ONLY means I want to delete Linux.

@Amiwell
I choose "Wipe disk" before I got that error message.
Ok, I managed to instal AROS on hdd. I had to switch the SATA mode in BIOS first. From "enhanced" to "compatible".

Now, the only system on my laptop [Asus M50V] is AROS.

I think It's time I should move this thread to other board, because this one is for introducing. Thanks guys.

Just FYI: if you had your disk in BIOS as SATA, then you needed to use ahci.device not, ata.device for partitioning/formatting/installing. Changing BIOS setting to "compatible", possibly means ATA-compatible, and then ata.device is the correct one.

Ok, guys. I gave up on usb. Crappy cd drive in my laptop happily managed to boot and ran Icaros Light up to the Workbench. I was surprised there were no installation script.
Do I miss something?

Of course I can see. In the Aros One distro, the HD installation script is placed a little deeper.
Sys:Utilities/

The place of InstallAROS is Sys:Utilities, on the DVD there is the link of its icon on Wanderer, on the USB Image, I avoided to make the link, in the next release I will see to add the link also on the USB Image.
