My laptop I’m trying to use with AROS and Ubuntu has a nvidia 8600m got gpu
https://www.nvidia.com/object/geforce_8600M.html

Been too long since playing with the native gfx stuff. Seem to remember there was someth8ng I could run that would tell me if is detected as a supported gpu... but I could be wrong

Supposing you are using Icaros Desktop, there's a whole "OpenGL" drawer in Extras which is plenty of accelerated applications. If you're running Icaros using the native drivers (ScreenMode in this case allows changing resolution on the fly), and you run tose games and apps without speed problems, then your GPU is fine.

As long as you boot night build, selecting native gfx, 3D accelleration would most likely work.
If you go to Extras:Demos/mesa in any night build you can start some of the demos there to be sure it works.

Then it is not supported. Sad to hear that, but that is life.

Hahahahah... thanks :)

Very practical and factual answer straight to the point.  :D

Hmmm maybe I need to find out how hard it would be for me to learn what is needed to make it work.... must be possible somehow..... hmmm
