AROS One 68k ABI-v1 68k: First distribution of AROS One 68k, also this one of my Distro that includes my drawer icons and not only, plus a wide variety of new and old free applications for Amiga OS3.
AROS 68k is still under development and has yet to mature, yet many old and new applications are supported (see video). Of course there are many things still not supported perfectly see programs like WHDload.

AROS One 68k is distributed on HardFile which can be used on WinUAE or other Amiga Emulators or "burned" on PenDrive, MemoryCard, Real HarDisk or copy its contents to a Folder and use it as a "DirectoryFilesystem".

That this is a Native version, in practice is a Nightly Build with a new outfit, I have only added libraries for the operation of Applications and Games Amiga OS3.

means that you turn on the machine and you are immediately operational? I was referring to aros x86 that I have been using for years without needing any windows partially(i have one thinclient)), macos and linux

Yes you don't have to install anything you just feed the HardFile to WinUAE and in a few seconds the system is started, I also attached the WinUAE config and the two new ROMs (KickStart) to use cone WinUAE/FS-UAE or other Amiga emulators. The system should also start on a real AMiGA RTG or with the Vampire to do this you need to start amiga cone the ROMs of AROS.

------ Italiano ------

I do not think that on vampire would be fine, on another thread we talked about it (changing the environment with workbook you can discuss it), on winuae I agree that go to me with janus on icaros does not have the desired performance and I use the 3.1 that I have licensed (I should have more than one) then now I have installed the new iconlib that was the most annoying thing for me that of the icons on it

On AROS 68k I noticed a problem with Wanderer:

- You can't give parameters on executable Exmpio: FFPLay -gui 0 can't be done, it works well without parameters
- From icon in "Shell" mode can not be disabled "prompt for imput"

Thank you AMIGASYSTEM!

I tried installing it using the floppy image and iso from the nightly build. But Winuae crashed always on the same spot. trying to copy a jpg or png from the prefs.
This disk image works much better.

You don't have to use the Floppy, to install Nightly Build you just have to use the ISO and Boot with this one ;)

@amigasystem
i kind of wonder if rather than creating another distribution you couldnt help us maintain basic 68k aros distro. some basic intelligence, scripting and bash knowledge is of course helpful with the task. but generally a common distro that builds automatically and incorporates latest changes along with a decent iff based theme for amigas and vampires would be better for the community than separate projects.

I'm not a developer and I'm an old man of 65 years, I'm still available for any test . I don't know the Vampire hardware but today working with iff images doesn't make sense anymore, I think AROS 68k shouldn't have restrictions are the Computers that host it that need to be enhanced, what's the point of using AROS on an old Amiga,,

What's the point of using AROS on an old Amiga? That's a good question and it may be subject to one's own personal taste.

Better yet, why should the Apollo Team or Individual Computers make new harware for an old computer system like an Amiga?

That may also be personal taste. There are still dedicated Amiga users out there, but they are becoming fewer and fewer lately.

ILBM is an outdated file format but so are many others. It's just for reasons of nostalgia and compatibility with file types.

AROS 68k is just one flavor of AROS. It has much potential but it still has room to grow.

Right, I was referring to the fact that AROS must run on Modern Computers, the old Amigas are too slow for this system, surfing the internet running multimedia can not follow on an old Amiga. To the nostalgic we let them use the old software so much to them not iteressa the new software, besides OS31 see nothing else.

lets not drag this out. its a matter of opiniont what one wants to use aros on, when its available for a given platform.
what concerns developing, i rather meant testing aros and putting together components for a distro rather than coding itself.

Your work on AfA One is greatly appreciated. If you would like to contribute to AROS 68k what it really needs in my opinion is a cosmetic makeover like you have done for AfA One. Last time I saw 68k it used Gorilla Icons. Your themes and icons would really make it stand out.

Accelerated Amigas are more common these days and quite capable. If you had an Amiga with a V2+ accelerator you would be impressed.

Development and testing for AROS advances slowly and some areas get neglected because there aren't enough skilled people involved. We all do what we can. Your enthusiasm for AfA One shows skills that would benefit many more people for AROS.

the problem is we ideally need themes and icons properly licensed for a usage that complies with aros or we can just use them for a fork/distribution and hope thats fine with the creators.
on an apollo forums vox proposed that:

i havnt yet looked at it admittedly.

AMIGASYSTEM,

I'm setting up AROS 68k in WinUAE and I would also like to try AROS One 68k. Your first link didn't work to download the current version.

Could you please post a good link to download the AROS One 68k distro?

miker, if you give me your email address I'll send you the link in private ;)

After the behavior of some Vampire users Here (http://apollo-core.com/knowledge.php?b=10&note=25463) I've decided to suspend distribution.

This is the updated version of AROS One 68k Standard last Nightly Build

Created a small Distro with the "Nightly Build" for AROS 68k 060, nothing special, a simple distro without external applications, seems to be faster
