I tend to use money personally. :D
-
exactly ;)

We donated 30 GBP to kalamatee today! kalamatee needs support I am pleased I can help him!
If I had more money I would pay him the needed Hardware so he could work on AROS SMP!
-
well honestly I'm trying to carry out some projects, I think useful, at least I hope
hi

So how do I contact kalamatee to find out what type of m.2 he needs for his new AMD Ryzen motherboard?
-
Can we not change this bounty to creation of AROS-64bit and let Kalamatee have the money.
AROS-64 works just fine running the ISO from night builds.
Should someone that does a distro of his and others work just take the money?

All of the donors would have to agree to IIRC. Frankly, I'm of the opinion the amount of work Kalamatee put into AROS 64 deserves the bounty but I was not a donor of said bounty so I have no say.

kalamatee has worked and continues to work very hard bringing many new features to AROS. He and other core developers deserve all the support we can give them so that they will be inspired to continue developing great software for AROS!
Keep up the good work, kalamatee! Your efforts are greatly appreciated.
-
Yes Kalamatee thank you :)
-
I helped with providing the m.2 nvme ssd drive. If anything else is needed as far as hardware let us know so we can help with that as well. Good job.

According to the link the total is only $465. That isn't much. If four people send him $100 that's still is only $400 which isn't nearly enough for the amount of effort. So if you feel strongly about supporting his efforts send him money directly. We could easily surpass this amount. But he already has projects to work on.

we can donate as aurabin did, but how did he?

Likely aurabin donated 30 GBP directly by Paypal. That's the easiest and fastest way.
kalamatee is currently improving the graphics support for AROS. He also upgraded OpenGL support for AROS which is a really big deal for graphics developers! He will use the built-in graphics for the Ryzen cpu for the moment but he will need a standalone grahics card.
Any donations would probably go toward a nice graphics card of his choice to further development of the AROS grahics drivers.
I believe that when we bless others, we are also blessed in the process.
-
I don't mean much of these things so we'll have support for next-generation nvidia and amd?
-
The way to do this is that Kalamatee just take the bounty and we all agree that it is completet and everyone is happy.
He is doing 64-bit version of AROS. Distribution or not.

BTW, current Vega-based GPUs included within Ryzen processors would be fine for AROS purposes (after all, they are far better than old GeForce pre-Fermi cards).

@nikos maybe they have to choose the donors of that bounty or I don't know who, I'll give something within my limits directly to kalamatee :)
