I have an Acer Aspire Netbook. I installed Icaros on a flash drive and have my AmigaOS 3.9 CD in a USB drive. When it boots up from the flash drive it loads the CD onto the desktop and I can access it. When trying to install it, I cannot get UAE to recognize the USB CD-Rom drive, even though Icaros does. SO when it asks for the AmigaOS 3.9 CD, I cannot point it to the drive. I also made an ISO of the disk and put it on a separate flash drive. I clicked on it so Icaros would mount it, and it does. When trying to install that way, UAE doesn't see the mounted ISO neither! What am I doing wrong?

you can create a folder and unpack the system 3.9 files and load it from the janus configuration excluding aros68k if that's what you mean

I know my way around windoze and AmiOS just fine. Linux is new to me. I read the instructions and had double-clicked on the ISO to make it present on the desktop, but it's invisible to UAE, for when I hit start it asks me which OS, I say 3.9, and it says put the disk online. It is, but I cannot add it to UAE as a cdrom drive. This is where I am stuck.

from icaros desktop uses diskimagegui to mount the iso, then take what you want inside it and that is wb 3.9 in the install folder precisely is an archive unpack it in a folder, by default icaros launches you aros 68k

Hi. You have to use the CD-ROM as like as any other mounted volume. Your Icaros computer is a 'host' system when running Janus-UAE, while the emulated amiga is a 'guest' system. When you insert the CD in the drive, it gets mounted on the host, but you really need it on the guest. So you have to call back the Janus-UAE GUI with Ctrl+Alt+J (IIRC), go to the hard drives panel and temporarily set a volume that points to your cd-rom. Then you will be able to install.
Please notice you will have to configure the system by yourself. I neved had an AmigaOS 3.9 system CD I could 'integrate' with a script similar to the one I did for Amiga Forever.

I thought I'd get him to call Janus and create an ad hoc configuration.
