We are back online on a new server with a new domain and a brand new system.
The site is not done but i have put it online so people can start using it and give me constructive feedback, please use the site feedback category for that.
If you want to access the old site, which is now read only, you can reach it here: https://ae.amigalife.org/old

Thank you for keeping aros-exec alive and for having provided a nice place for the open source AmigaOS all these years. All the best for this reincarnation.
-
Long live the new aros exec
-
Looking good, hopefully “Administror” will have a little more friendly name at some point ;D
Administrator seems so impersonal lol

Well found, I changed nikname, first "amiga" now AMIGASYSTEM ;)
-
Thank you for the new AE "home" :)
-
I have just installed a new mod to the site, everything should look much better now if you are accessing this site using mobile devices, feel free to do some testing and let me know if it does not.

Hey Ho. Nikolaos here. Thx for new forum site.

Agree this is fantastic news ;-) Kudos
-
ok im in as well.

I supose it won't be possible, but I realized it can hurt a bit the life of the forum if it doesn't have a "summary" where you can see the latest posts of all the subforums, it is way more attractive to keep comming back and give more life. I fear the life of the forum can get hurt because the lack of that.
-
@x-vision
i agree

I also really miss the overview of the old aros-exec. Most people won't check every single category for interesting posts.
Until this feature is back (I hope it will ;-)), I use
https://ae.amigalife.org/index.php?action=unread (https://ae.amigalife.org/index.php?action=unread)
which is at least some replacement for logged in users.

Since it seems that aros-excec.org domain has gone, I would like you to test the following links instead
http://www.aros-exec.net
http://archives.aros-exec.net
http://old.aros-exec.net
They're just redirections for your our commodity only and I paid for this year. I will forward to 4Play all management addresses and password so he may change the DNS in the future and take ownership of the domain if he likes.
kind regards

Now you have it :).
Also, there are only the 6 latest now as i do not want it to take too much of the screen. If you want to see more you can browse to the bottom of the main page and click "View the most recent posts on the forum."

Seems the spam bots are already joining us as well, i have adjusted the registration scheme a bit and added a control question most amigans should know or be able to search up.

That's great, thanks! 6 is a bit brief but I suppose activity will be a bit lower than before for some time. Anyway, taking care of this facilities will make the difference for the success (or not) of the new domains, I think that even long time amigans that didn't decide to register on aros exec, may register on the new domain
-
Personally, I would rather view a summary for the last 6 threads than the last 6 posts. Also, perhaps a link page would be nice. The old exec had links to the archive, to documentation, etc. Either way, thanks 4pLaY :)

I will see about a links page later on, it has not been high on the todo list.

Thanks. I really appreciate this. It's a good compromise, although I'd prefer to see the latest 8 replied topics listed there, instead of the latest messages.
thank you and regards
-
I agree, the last n topics would be much more useful.

I will add it to my todo list and see if i can do something about it but no promises.
