hi
I installed the development tools but on the shell when I call GCC does not work yet I see that in my system all paths are assigned, except for the compiler, how can I solve
-
Which version of AROS base system are you using? (from which download)
Which version of GCC are you using? (from which download)
What do you mean by "GCC does not work"?
-
I'm using your build the D7 with the development tools 6.5, sorry does not work on the shell if I type gcc -v tells me gcc: object not found, I often happen this thing only on icaros works
-
Is the problem on your TinyAros Distribution ? possibly I download it and check where the problem is !
If you are only using the reference Build, GCC is not present in the Bin folder !
-
I remember that you have already tried tiny aros and you work to me no only icaros there will be some assign missing perhaps, I'm currently using the builds of deadwood with the latest development tools released a short time ago
thank you Carlo
-
With deadwood Builds everything works regularly, you just have to copy the full BIN folder which includes GC which is not included
As soon as I have some time I download your TinyAROS and check the problem !
-
to me does not work I do not know what is the problem with icaros works gcc :-\
-
gcc is missing in system assign at least I noticed this
-
Salvo, GCC doesn't work on TinyAROS because you modified the startup-sequence, now it works see screenshot !
To solve this, delete your startup-sequence and replace it with the one from the deadwood Build
Also, the system window with the icons, it opens in a reduced way, fix it and save it.

-
sorry which build anyway I'm using now the D7 and I have not changed the startup-sequence but it does not work :-\
-
I was talking about your distribution, where the startup-sequence has been changed and you have to replace it "with any of the builds"!
On the D7 build as mentioned everything works correctly, you just have to copy the manvant files, the GCC and other missing files in Development/BIN
------ Italiano -------
-
va bene grazie
-
on build D7 does not work I have to try again Tiny Aros anyway thanks
-
No Salvo, as already said D7 works fine, see screenshot, you probably miss something, if you want I can attach you D7 with Bin folder completed by me !
------ Italiano --------
No Salvo, come già detto la D7 funziona bene, vedi screenshot, probabilmente sbagli qualcosa, se vuoi posso allegarti la D7 con la cartella Bin completata da me !
-
the files are right were those posted by deadwood :)
-
I also copied the deadwood files and it works.

Anche io ho copiato i file di deadwood e funziona.
-
I can not explain why it does not work only with icaros that I tried long ago I work ???
-
As said you are doing something wrong, it works well with my AROS One and it works well with your TinyAROS which I fixed.
----- Italiano -----
Come detto sbagli qualcosa, funziona bene con il mio AROS One e funziona bene anche con il tuo TinyAROS che ho fixato.
-
mah what I do is install the build with the development tools then I copy the entire archive!
-
I can not explain why it does not work only with icaros that I tried long ago I work ???
Please wait for a better Icaros beta. I have already successfully integrated gcc 6.5, although I haven't used it yet to actually compile anything.
-
I have already tried the new D14 core and gcc 6.5 works fine, made a successful compilation, see screenshot
-
Note that GCC in D14/DC2 does not work for C++ yet.

ok thank you Paolo

Thank you, as soon as C++ is available it will be mentioned among the Distribution updates

deadwood, just out of curiosity I ran C++ -v, and it seems to be working, see screenshot, as you know I am not a developer, how can I tell when GCC and C++ are not working ? thanks
-
You need to compile some example code to see whether it is really working.
-
Okay thank you, again out of curiosity, when I come across a small C++ source I will do some testing, at the moment I don't know where to look for it.

Some small MUI examples are in the archive at http://archives.aros-exec.org/share/development/example/mui_examples.i386-aros.zip. They should be easy to compile.

Thanks cavemann very kind, as you can see from the screenshot with GCC 6.5.0 I compiled without problems some sources, with C++ I get errors, I also tried arinominate the sorgent .c to .cpp !
Question, but the MUI sources you linked, are they compaible also with C++ ?

In theory, it should work. But I would try some real c++ code to be sure. Have you tried using g++?
-
G++ gives errors, but it could be that C sources are not supported
Meanwhile I have to thank you again, thanks to the MUI source link you posted, by editing one, I created an "About" for my AROS one, I went by intuition and managed to eliminate what was not needed and increased the size of the logo ;D
